How to calculate your grade based on serveral marks
To calculate a final grade based on multiple marks, you can follow these steps:
- Add up all the marks to get the total marks.Divide the total marks by the number of marks to get the average percentage.
- Compare the average percentage to the grade thresholds (usually set by the school or institution) to determine the final grade.
For example, if the grade thresholds are:
A: 90% or above
B: 80% to 89%
C: 70% to 79%
D: 60% to 69%
F: Below 60%
And if the average percentage is 85% then the grade will be B.
- You can also assign weights to each mark and then multiply each mark with its weight and add them up to get the weighted marks.
- Then divide the weighted marks by total weights to get the weighted average percentage.
Then use this weighted average percentage to determine the final grade.
Your own school may have different guidlines and weightings for determining grades.
