There are two steps to the process of working converting a fraction to a percentage number.

First you need to convert the fraction to a decimal number.

The line between the top number (numerator) and the bottom number (denominator) means divided by. Based on this to convert a fraction e.g. 1/2 to a decimal means you need to calculate: 1 divided by 2. The calculation is 1 รท 2 = 0.5.

Next you need to convert the decimal number to percent. For the example above the calculation would be 0.5 x 100 = 50%.
